Videoconferencing - News and Highlights

The Polycom RMX 2000 videoconference platform has been installed along with the Polycm CMA 5000 management system.  Some of the benefits include increased videoconference capacity from the current 32 connections to 80, better video quality, high definition video, and more robust connectivity.  The new system is fully compatible with the VSX and HDX Polycom videoconference units already installed in the schools.
The phone conferencing service from OCISS has expanded from 40 to 86 lines. The expanded capacity allows more users to utilize the service at the same time by allowing more conferences to be held simultaneously. The www.teleschool.k12.hi.us is still active and points to the same web site but all future references will use the new URL.
The Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Student Support (OCISS) has acquired an on-line video conference reservation system. This system provides Hawaii DOE users a convenient way to place single and recurring multi-site video conference reservations.
