How to find your E164 VC number

"I looked in the district site directory, but my school has multiple VC units. How do I tell which E.164 short-cut number is for the VC unit I will be using in the videoconference?"
It will depend on the Polycom model. See respective models below.

Some schools adhere a label on each VC unit with the respective E.164. This makes it easy for users to access the identifying number for the specific vc unit that will be placed in the videoconference.

 

For VSX 7000 and HDX 8000:

  1. Turn on and connect your videoconference unit to the network.
  2. Go to the Home Menu screen of your videoconference unit.

    Your VC unit must be connected to the network for your IP address to appear
  3. Both your IP address and 6-digit E.164 should appear near the bottom.

  4. If your E.164 is not displaying on the Home Menu screen, VC call Technical Assistance 011703 and ask a VC technician to adjust your display configuration.

 

 

For ViewStation:

You have to go one level into the menu, into "System Info" to access the E.164.
  1. Turn on and connect your ViewStation to the network.
  2. Go to the Home Menu screen of your ViewStation.

  3. Navigate to "System Info" and press SELECT.
  4. On the "IP Address" line of the "System Information" page, the E.164 is the 6-digit number following the abbreviation "Ext."
