Using CMA Desktop

For best results please use a webcam and headset with a mic.
DOE users need to be using a computer configured with a static IP address. Non-DOE users need to be using a computer configured automatically with DHCP. If you are unsure please see your network administrator.

On a PC

  1. Obtain a username and password by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  2. For DOE users: using Internet Explorer browse to the Hawaii DOE Polycom CMA website given to you by a Videoconference tech
  3. Login using the Username and Password
  4.  

  5. Select Downloads in the top right corner

  7. Select Download to download the Polycom CMA Desktop

  9. For non-DOE users: using an internet browser go to: http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/video/cma/cma_desktop.html. Download version Mac OSX v5.0.0

  11. Right-click on the link titled: Polycom CMA Desktop System
  12. Save the file to an easy-to-remember location (eg. desktop or C:/)
  13. Find the file named CMADesktop.exe and open it
  14. Click through the installation promps & Accept the agreement
  15. At the promt to enter in a server address enter in the address given to you by the Videoconference technician
  16. Click through the next prompts
  17. Launch the CMA Desktop

  19. Login using the same login and username as in step 3. Non-DOE users use "local\" before typing in your username.
  20. The CMA Desktop should connect to the server and launch your audio and video

  22. For DOE sites enter a VC video call number in the lower field and select Call. For non-DOE sites email a VC technician on the dialing number
  23. A second window will open with the video of the site(s) that you called

  25. When you are done with your VC select the red hang up button to end your session
