Kidphysics is a rigorous science standards based program designed for the 6th graders in Hawaii's public schools.

Kidphysics covers a year of study:

What is Matter?
The Properties of Matter
Interaction of Matter
Matter and Motion

The measurement of each student's success goes beyond mere test taking. Instilling a sense of questioning, hypothesizing, designing tests, controlling variables, collecting data, analyzing data and drawing conclusions are the foundation to any sound science program such as Kidphysics.  Ongoing investigations of the world around us is encouraged by the program to be done with the lessons, and students are urged to study their world  independently.

DVDs are used to teach each lesson. Students are required to take notes and engage in inquiry thinking.  They apply what they learned by participating in labs within their class.

Assessments are in place for teachers to measure each student's understanding of the 6th grade science benchmarks. Assessments are both multiple choice and short answer.

Each participating teacher may now download workbook lessons and assessments online. A list of supplies is provided.

Teachers are required to report student achievements after each quarter, by turning in data for their pre and post tests. Each individual teacher's report will be confidential, but will be used to measure the success of KidPhysics.
