Aloha. The "Choices" series will help guide our students to make the right Choices for themselves, their family, their community and the world in which we all live. It's about character education.

Students will learn important words like "responsibility" and "honesty." They'll learn what these words mean, how they are used, and how to practice them everyday. There is story-telling and on every show there will be a song about our featured word in both English and Hawaiian sung by an animal found in Hawaii. There's a rock and roll dolphin, a country singing mynah bird and a lullaby singing gecko just to name a few characters.

A geography series developed around the geography strand of the 3rd grade social studies content standards. Each 30-minute lesson will focus on a different country of the world as a native child tells about his/her home, family, and community.

Exploring America focuses on ways that people in the United States are interacting with natural resources (forests, wildlife, farms, fisheries, or water). Students are engaged in an inquiry process to discover the positive and negative effects of human interaction with resources in each U.S. region. The programs help guide students in this process by providing background information, assistance with mapping, and featuring students engaging in investigations.

The Hawaii Student Digital Showcase (HSDS) is a project to help promote student produced videos from Hawai`i’s public and private schools.

With the expansion of digital media capabilities, schools have the technology to creatively produce videos for an audience beyond the classroom. To showcase these videos, the Hawaii Schools Digital Media Showcase was created to cablecast elementary, middle and high school student video projects on DOE’s channel 56.
