Copyright Issues

Can I play copyrighted music for Mayday?
Copyrighted legislation is intended to protect the creative individuals who produce intellectual and artistic works and is intended to protect their financial interests by prohibiting others from copying or misusing their works.

Therefore if copyrighted music is to be used for Mayday, schools should get consent from the copyright owners. Copyright owners are often happy to approve the use of copyrighted works for educational purposes. It is important that you apply in advance to give the copyright holder time to review and approve the proposed use.

Can we make videotape copies of our Mayday program if we don’t have copyright clearances for the music?
