Art Smarts

Art Smarts is an art series, hosted by Artist Page Chang, designed to give students an understanding of the Elements of Art. It is Standards based, Educational and Fun. There are nine 30 minute programs in the series. Each program features a Guest Artist from Hawai'i who demonstrates an Art Principle.

DOE Goals

"Art Smarts" will enable students to develop and grow in their abilities to describe, analyze, interpret and judge their own artwork and that of others.

After viewing these programs:

• Students will have a greater interest and desire to learn about Art.
• Students will begin to recognize different Artist and Art Styles.

"Art Smarts" is in alignment with the Hawaii Content and Performance Standard in the category of Visual Arts for 4th and 5th graders.
